Information about Letrozole Tablet
Letrozole tablet is used for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer in women. It can be used alone or in combination with other treatments such as surgery or radiation. It can also be used in patients with advanced breast cancer to prevent the tumor from spreading to other parts of the body.
It reduces the amount of estrogen (female hormone) produced in the body. A deficiency of the hormone estrogen can slow or stop the growth of some breast cancers that require estrogen to grow. Apart from this, it is also useful in infertility whereby it increases the release of certain hormones to stimulate the release of eggs from the ovaries. Letrozole reduces the amount of estrogen the body makes and slows the growth of these breast cancers.
