Dutas Capsule is manufactured by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. Dutas Capsule is a drug of the 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor group. Dutas Capsule is used in combination with drugs. Dutas Capsule is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (also known as enlarged prostate). It reduces the size of the enlarged prostate gland thereby relieving symptoms like pain and difficulty in passing urine.
Your blood contains a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that causes your prostate to enlarge. Dutas Capsule prevents the build-up of DHT in your body, which causes the enlarged prostate to shrink.

Dutas Capsule is used in the prevention and treatment of these diseases –
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia (also called an enlarged prostate)
- Alopecia
Dutas Capsule Dosage
The dosage is prescribed by the doctor based on your age, medical history, and current condition.
Normal dosage– for adults 1 tablet once a day or as advised by the doctor. Swallow it whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dutas Capsule can be taken before or after a meal.
Dutas Capsule Side effects
If your symptoms do not improve after taking it. Or if your condition worsens, consult your doctor immediately.
Common side effects are as follows-
- Low sexual desire, decreased sex drive
- Impotence
- Allergic reaction
- Decreased sperm count and activity
